Day 44

Tobacco Road

Left Springfield, VA around 2pm after getting some laundry done and having a nice breakfast of leftovers from the Hudson refrigerator.

We arrived just before game time after the 4 hour drive to Durham. $3 for parking, $5 tickets (with our $1 student discount), and $1 hot dog night - how could it not be a good time? We were excited to see the Bulls young crop of studs BJ Upton, Elijah Dukes, & the infamous Delmon Young. The crowd filled in nicely during the game, but saw the visitors from Scranton-Wilkes Barre put it on the bulls and won big.

The park itself is really nice. The giant blue wall in left is reminiscent of Fenway and the brick office building gives you the feel of Camden Yards. There are also a ton of fun things for the kids to do down the right field line. The seating layout is almost identical to Ho Ho Kam Park, the Cubs Spring Training facility.

The Bulls also have some great uniforms and great hats, but their merchandise was priced like a big league team, so we didn't buy anything (unlike in Rochester). They did have a lot of good food options and we had our first funnel cake of the trip. Should have had one sooner.

Travel day tomorrow as we make our way towards Miami.
