A Different Columbus Than Before
After driving 5 hours to Columbus we checked into hotel and chilled out for an hour before heading to Golden Park for the Columbus Catfish (Dodgers A Affiliate) vs. Hickory Crawdads (Pirates A Affiliate) game.
Catfish Media Relations Director Jere Sisler was nice enough to comp us some tickets and even gave us vouchers for a free meal at the concession stand. Thanks Jere.
Golden Park was built back in the 50s, but renovated for the Softball events of the 1996 Olympic Games. The ballpark still retains a lot of it's charm. We especially liked the brick outfield wall that remains unmarked by advertising.
The Catfish have a great logo, which caused me to buy a hat. There weren't many fans out for the Monday night game, but the staff did a great job of entertaining the ones that were there and even gave away loafs of bread as we left the park.
Braves vs. Marlins tomorrow in Atlanta.
