We started out our day by driving to the Notre Dame campus to check out the Stadium, Touchdown Jesus, the Golden Dome, and all the other famous spots of Fighting Irish lore. The whole thing is pretty impressive and I can imagine gameday is pretty sweet in South Bend. After that we headed to the College Football Hall of Fame. We spent a little over three hours there, but it was not enough time. If you're a college football fan you could easily spend a whole day there. They have exhibits from the very beginnings of football all the way up to present day that celebrate every facet of the game. They also have plaques for all the college greats that have been inducted to the hall which are very realistic. They also had a lot of interactive trivia games and exhibits that Dad especially enjoyed. It's a great place and a definite must stop for all football fans. Once lunch was over we headed down to Coveleski Stadium and met with the South Bend Silverhawks Media Relations Director Mike Lockert. Mike was nice enough to have us as his guest on the Silverhawks pre-game show, which hopefully you can view above. The video might be hard to make out but you should be able to hear what we said. I spoke too softly, but other than that I think we did okay. We'd like to thank Mike and Silverhawks Marketing Director Amy Hill for taking such good care of us in South Bend. Thanks for the great experience. The actual game was great too as we saw the 'Hawks win it in the 10th. Back to Chicago for the White Sox/Orioles game and then up to Milwaukee to sleep. -Ty |
